Paradigm FM 100.0 has launched a new talk show titled “My Point”, which will bring together panelists from different sectors to discuss national and local issues every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The inaugural edition was hosted by Aregro Mukisa with the panelists Musana Eric, leader of the Ensonga Team; Counsel Nathan Kunihira; Aligonza Wenka Kamihanda, the District Councillor representing Persons with Disabilities; and Edward Asiimwe, Administrator of the Paradigm Institute.
The panel discussed a number of issues, including President Yoweri Museveni’s recent national address and his slogan for the current term, “No More Sleep”, as well as the government’s stance on zero tolerance to corruption.
Musana Eric said the slogan could yield positive results if corruption is effectively tackled and if government officials stop presenting misleading information and fake achievements to the President. He also emphasized the need for Ugandans to change their mindset and make use of available government programs aimed at eradicating poverty.
Counsel Nathan Kunihira noted that for government programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM) to succeed, authorities must pay greater attention to disadvantaged groups and ensure that the projects are beneficial to ordinary citizens.
Edward Asiimwe, the Paradigm Institute Administrator, said the phrase “No More Sleep” emphasizes development and wealth creation among Ugandans through government programs. He argued that many government initiatives would succeed if civil servants prioritized serving the public instead of pursuing personal interests.
Asiimwe added that a lack of patriotism among some public servants continues to affect service delivery.
Aligonza Wenka Kamihanda, the District Councillor for Persons with Disabilities, said the slogan can achieve its intended goals if government guidelines are fully implemented, particularly in ensuring effective service delivery and fulfilling government commitments to citizens.
The “My Point” program will air every Sunday on 100.0 Paradigm FM from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
