At least 171 children were today baptized at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kagadi town council Kagadi district as the Catholic Church marked the Holy Innocents ’ Day.
The baptism mass was presided over by the Episcopal Vicar Kagadi vicariate Monsignor Peter Kabelenge who challenged parents to live exemplary life before their children.
Rev Fr Peter Kaberenge emphasized that the feast of holy innocents day is a great day in the catholic faith.He also says that 10 people have converted to catholic faith and were among the baptized Christians.

Msgr.Kabelenge further asked the parents to raise their children in catholic faith with good morals and nurture them into responsible persons in future.
He further asked parents to also follow the saint’s names while naming their children.

Holy Innocents Day is commemorated on December 28 every year and on this day, the Catholic Church honors the first martyrs. These were the children of Israel killed by King Herod in his quest to find baby Jesus.
Meanwhile, at Katikengeye catholic church in Nyakarongo Sub-County,Rev.Fr.William Okechi of St.Peter’s Bwikara catholic parish in his sermon said Jesus Christ saved mankind from sin and death through his death and resurrection:
He asked Christians to strengthen their faith in Christ and stick to him as he saved them from inherited sin.
During mass, Rev.Fr.Okechi baptized 60 children.

Meanwhile,at Kagadi St.Luke’s COU Parish,Kagadi archdeaconry, Christians have been urged to observe respect for children’s rights, and spiritual nurturing to foster successful and peaceful family lives.
The message was delivered by Rev. Francis Mugisa, the associate vicar of St. Luke’s Church, during his sermon.
Rev. Mugisa emphasized the significance of observing Holy Innocents’ Day, highlighting its importance in shaping the lives of children and reminding Christians of their responsibility toward the younger generation.

Speaking to Paradigm FM, Alice Kabasana, the head of laity at St.Luke’s C.O.U-Parish, challenged the youth to steer away from evil acts that separate them from God.
Kabasana urged parents to provide unwavering support to their children to create an environment conducive to their growth and well-being.
