A new Hospital Management Board for Kagadi Hospital has been inaugurated to oversee the institution on behalf of the government.
The inauguration and swearing in ceremony took place last evening Wednesday on the 11th Dec 2024 at Kagadi hospital in Kagadi town council.
The board comprises nine members including ex-officials and will serve for a period of three years.
Juliet Biringi is the board chairperson. Other members are Marghret Lwanga,Josam Thembo and John Alibankoha who was recently appointed to the board and approved by the Kagadi district council.
The board will oversee the functionality of the hospital and steer the hospital to achieve its vision of quality service delivery.
The new chairperson Kagadi Hospital Management Board Juliet Birungi shortly after her inauguration and swearing in said they will establish a private wing where patients will be charged fees to get advanced treatment.
She says this will save patients from over spending on treatment in private health facilities, committing self to improve health services in collaboration with the health personnel at the hospital.
Birungi says the hospital receives an overwhelming number of patients beyond its handling capacity and hopes the private wing will help to address some challenges.
The Kagadi district Lc5 chairman Yosia Ndibwami urged the new board members to always hold regular meetings and monitoring to improve service delivery at the government hospital.
In his remarks, the Kagadi district deputy CAO Vincent Kyaligonza urged the new Hospital Management board to serve with dedication.
