Kagadi town council authorities have confirmed that Mambugu weekly market is set to be commissioned on 29th April,2025.
This was unveiled on Monday March 11, 2025 by the Kagadi town council Lc3 chairperson Geofrey Businge during a press briefing held at the town council offices in Kagadi district.
The town council authorities updated the public on the progress of the new market.
Businge said the distribution of the market stalls will be done on 20th March, 2025, ahead of its commissioning in April.
He further said that the market in its initial stages will majorly sell food items and cattle, and as the market develops, it will also open for other merchandise.
Businge asked vendors to prepare and bring items to the market for sale after its commissioning.
The town clerk Kagadi town council, John Isingoma said the market stalls are on sale at 200,000shillings paid to his office and access roads connecting to Mambugu market have been rehabilitated to ease transport.
Isingoma said the market will be operating on every Tuesdays weekly, asserting that a modern toilet has also been constructed at the site to improve sanitation and hygiene.
He also guarantees security and safety of people’s merchandise in the new market.
