Kasokero Parish has emerged the Champions of the Greater Kyenzige Zone in the Acaali Football tournament Second Edition in Buyaga East Constituency.
Greater Kyenzige had 8 teams which were subjected to play in two groups A and B using two playgrounds of Kitema and Kyeicumu from where the winners of each group played the final.
Kasokero from group B were last evening declared winners after beating Kyeicumu from group A 2-0 in the Finals played at Kyeicumu playground in Kyenzige Sub county.
The winners were declared by referee Asaba Mary Joyce who commended the teams and fans for being peaceful.
The Buyaga East MP Eric Musana says he organized the tournament to develop women’s talents and create awareness about girl child education.
He asked parents to support children education.
The legislator gifted all the 8 teams with 500,000UGX each and a fifty seater tent will be given to Kasokero women’s team the champions of Kyenzige zone.
Musana also gave mama kits to over 300 expectant mothers to facilitate safe delivery.
Kirungi Gerald the Kagadi district football Association Chairperson applauded the Member of Parliament for organizing this tournament meant to develop the talents of the girl child who will be signed by big teams.
He urges teams that received the funds and those who will get tents from the Member of Parliament to use them profitably.
