The Primary Leaving Examinations-PLE has this morning kicked off smoothly at all the UNEB sitting centers in Kagadi district.
The candidates started with Mathematics in the morning and Social studies in the Evening whereas tomorrow 7thNov,pupils will sit for Integrated Science in the Morning and English in the afternoon.
Paradigm FM held a mini-survey at the examination centers in the district and in its findings; majority of the registered candidates had turned up for the exams.
At Bishop Rwakaikara P/S, Exams commenced promptly at 9:00am.The school headteacherRev.FrancisMugisa says he registered 97 candidates and all have turned up.
He asserts that the center accommodates pupils with disabilities, with five such students registered.
Rev.Mugisacommended the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) for providing trained professionals to assist students with disabilities.
He however askedUNEB toconsider a special assessment and grading for people with disabilities to enable them score better grades, considering the challenges they face because of their physical disability.
At Kagadi Modal P/S,the school headteacherEmmanuel Abigabasays theyregistered success on day one of the PLE exams as sunny weather conditions favored the exercise. He stresses that all their 65 candidates have done the first papers.
Other schools in the district also reported smooth proceedings.
At Agape learning center out of their 49 candidates none missed, Trust way schools Muhorro has 70 candidates, Mary Cox P/S 20,Kagadi Parents school 25 and all sat their first papers.
The school headteachers say no serious indiscipline cases have been reported, promising to maintain the status quo.
These have also asked parents to be vigilant about their children’s safety in holidays.
Some Candidates expressed their readiness to pass the exams asserting that the first papers were affordable.
