Kagadi
Kagadi town council has approved a budget estimate of Seven hundred ninety-five million, Two hundred twenty five thousand, twenty six Ugandan shillings (795,225,026UGXM) for the 2026/2027 financial year.
The motion to approve the budget was tabled on Monday by Anatoli Byabasaija, the secretary for finance, planning and administration who also serves as councillor for the People with disabilities(PWDs) during the final council meeting for this political term held at Kagadi town council hall in Kagadi district.
The council sitting was presided over by speaker Earnest Kyahurwa.
Presenting the budget report, Byabasaija explained that the works sector received the largest allocation amounting to over 216M, mainly to rehabilitate rural roads and improve connectivity, Primary Health care 101.92M, Education 15.1M,Finance 164M, Administration 42M,among others.
He says the budget will be funded by central government transfers and local raised revenue.
Meanwhile, the outgoing LC3 chairperson for Kagadi Town Council, Geofrey Businge, thanked the councillors and the entire house for approving the budget.
He said the town council leadership had registered several achievements during its term in office despite some projects remaining incomplete.
Businge called upon incoming leaders to continue implementing unfinished projects to ensure service delivery to residents.
