As President Yoweri Museveni is sworn in for a seventh term in office on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, leaders and residents in Kagadi district have spoken out about what the president should prioritise over the next five years.
President Museveni took oath of office at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala, marking another chapter in Uganda’s political leadership under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party administration.
In interviews conducted across Kagadi district, residents highlighted key issues they believe require urgent government attention, including corruption, fees in government aided schools and extortion in PDM among others.

Patrick Mbasiima the Kagadi district NRM party registrar urges government to fulfill several long-standing pledges that he said have remained unresolved in the district such as the Kagadi Municipality, Tarmacking of Muhorro-Ndaiga road, increment of PDM fund and upgrade of Kagadi general hospital among others.
Meanwhile Ellygard Tumusiime the Kagadi district LCV chairperson elect says emphasis must be put on improving agriculture and fighting corruption.
