Police say the number of people who die in road crashes in Kagadi district has risen to alarming levels.

According to ASP Patrick Sabiiti, the Kagadi district traffic police officer, between September 1 to October 28, 2024, the district registered 17 fatal accidents that claimed 10 lives.

He said the major causes of the accidents are mainly due to abuse of traffic laws by speeding, Careless overtaking, overloading, drunk driving and driving vehicles in poor mechanical conditions.

ASP Sabiiti has urged all road users to prioritize road safety and strictly adhere to traffic rules to minimize accidents.

He also highlighted the importance of continued enforcement and public education to reduce road crashes and save lives.

    This true , if he brought for a bigger period of time the number is more than this but the biggest causes is over speeding
