The Bishop of Hoima Catholic Diocese Rt Rev. Bishop Vincent Kirabo has raised concerns about the common mentality among people to live recklessly and rushing into free things, citing the recent incident of the Kigoogwa Fuel Tanker Explosion that claimed lives.
Bishop Kirabo notes that such incidents depict that many people are living reckless lives and hungry for free things instead of working hard for better livelihoods.
Bishop Kirabo made the remarks on Monday in his visit to St. Jude Catholic Parish in Kasimbi Sub County Kibaale District where he offered the Sacrament of Confirmation to over 300 faithful as the Parish also marked the St. Jude’s Feast day.
The function was also used to fundraise towards the completion of the Adoration Chapel that realized over 4 million shillings cash.
Bishop Kirabo also confirmed 2 couples into the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony.
Rev Fr. John Mary Busobozi, the Parish Priest St. Jude Kasimbi Catholic Parish said the parish administration and faithful have established different projects that have enabled them to achieve the current status and later handed over 2million shillings donation from Rev Fr. Benard Bitekerezo attached to Butiti Catholic Parish,Fort Portal diocese.
Represented by his wife Scholastica Kugonza, the Buyanja East Constituency MP, Dr. Emely Kungonza has rallied the public to engage in development activities and embrace Kanzaali economic empowerment program and other government programs.
She delivered a 1 million shillings contribution towards the completion of the Chapel.
In attendance was also the Kibaale Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Stephen Byaruhanga Mfashingabo who encouraged the community to engage in farming activities especially coffee planting among others that can yield income to their homes.
He contributed One hundred thousand Shillings (Ugx100,000) shillings in cash.
The Director Bugumiro Foundation established in Birembo Kakumiro District funded by Americans, Edward Wamala handed over a Cope and Hummeil Veil to be used in the Chapel after its completion and also contributed shs500,000 with additional pledge of shs500,000.
