The District Registration Officer of Kagadi District, Tom Ambrose Musinguzi, has encouraged residents to take advantage of the additional 10-day window for National ID registration.
Initially scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, the exercise has been extended due to the surge in applicants.
Musinguzi confirmed coordination with the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) to proceed with the registration drive.
Musinguzi appealed to local council leaders and the political wing to mobilize residents, ensuring widespread participation.
Denis Aheebwa, Registration Assistant at Kagadi Town Council, noted an increase in registration seekers over the past few days.
However, Aheebwa highlighted the challenge posed by applicants’ lack of knowledge about the exercise, hindering the registration process’ efficiency.
