The Magistrate’s Court in Kagadi town council,Kagadi district has further remanded the former Forum For Democratic Change (FDC) candidate for Kagadi town council in the recently concluded general elections, accused of sodomy.
The 34-year old Kelleb Kabagambe, and resident of Kicwanyindo cell,Kiraba ward,Kagadi town council, appeared before court presided over by Chief magistrate Magret Nazifa on Thursday.
Prosecution told court that on 30th Decembe,2025, while in Kagadi town council,Kabagambe sodomised a-23 year old man contrary to Anti-Homosexuality Act,2023, which punishes same-sex sexual acts (defined as homosexuality) with life imprisonment.
The suspect was not allowed to take plea, and instead sent back to remand in Mambugu government prison as the charges against him are capital in nature and can only be tried by the High Court. He was remanded till 12th March,2026.
Meanwhile, the same court also sentenced a-35-year-old man to six years imprisonment over defilement.
Court presided over by chief magistrate Magret Nazifa heard that on 25th December,2025, the accused Javira Tibesigwa,a resident of Burigira cell,Mpeefu ya Sande town council, defiled a-14 year-old minor of the same residence
While in the dock, the accused pleaded guilty to the defilement charges and was handed a six year jail term at Mambugu government prison.
