Joyce Kwebiiha popularly known as Mama Mission the former Woman Member of Parliament Kyenjojo District was on Wednesday laid to rest in Kihuura Sub-County, Kyenjojo district, without the anticipated official State funeral.
Kwebiiha 77, succumbed to pressure at Buhinga regional referral hospital on 16th February,2026, after she had battled the disease for a long time.
The funeral service was led by Rt. Rev.Lauben Kisembo the Bishop of Ruwenzori diocese.
Bishop Kisembo urged mourners to prepare for untimely death through salvation to inherit eternal life.
He advised Christians to denounce sin and seek for Christ when still alive, stressing that earthly life is too short.
Bishop Kisembo also rallied the people of Kyenjojo to embrace unity and work closely with their leaders to develop the district.

The Kyenjojo district woman Member of Parliament elect Speranza Baguma and Gilbert Rubeihayo,the Kyenjojo district Lc5 chairman eulogised late Kwebiiha as a an intelligent and hardworking leader who shaped the development of Kyenjojo district and Tooro sub-region at large.

Meanwhile Benon Rukunya who delivered speech on behalf of the former employees of Kyenjojo Development Radio whose proprietor was late Joyce Kwebiiha, described the deceased as a caring parent who nurtured them into journalism professionals.
They lauded late Kwebiiha for prioritising to make investments at home and establishing the first ICT training centre where many youths gained computer skills.

Joyce Kwebiiha alias Mama Mission represented Kyenjojo district in the eighth parliament from 2006-2011.
In the 2011 general elections, Kwebiiha who had served for one term lost the seat to Linda Timbigamba who also represented the district for one term before she lost to Seperenza Baguma in the 2016 elections.
