Police in Hoima City are investigating the murder of an unidentified man in his 30s, found dead in Nyarugabu Cell, Kiduma Ward, Hoima City West Division.

The lifeless body was discovered by residents on their way to work around 8 am on Thursday October 10, and reported to local council chairman Delson Mwesigwa, who then informed the police.

According to SP Julius Allan Hakiza, Albertine region police PRO, police was yet to identify the victim’s particulars.

Hakiza urged locals to report suspected criminals to the police instead of taking the law into their own hands, emphasizing that mob justice is against the law.

Notably, most murder cases in Bunyoro result from mob and gender-based violence.

Hakiza also advised married couples to report any domestic torture to the police for mediation and intervention before situations escalate to murder.

He condemned the daily torture of men by their wives, emphasizing the need for victims to report such incidents to the police.

Last month, Albertine Police recorded 38 murder cases, with Kagadi district reporting the highest number.
