Kagadi

The Kagadi district Education Officer (DEO) Beatrace Mbabazi has warned schools against teaching learners during holidays.

According to the official 2026 school calendar, Term One had been scheduled to end on Friday, May 1, but the closure date was adjusted to Thursday because of the International labour day that coincided with the closure date for the first academic term.

Speaking to the media at her office, Madam Mbabazi said the holiday period should be strictly observed to allow learners and teachers time to rest, recharge, and engage in non-academic activities.

Mbabazi urges parents to protect their children from any potential harm this holiday and engage them in domestic work.

The Education Officer said the registration for Primary Seven candidates for 2026 PLE Exams is in progress and calls for cooperation of teachers and parents to ensure the registration exercise is completed within the stipulated timeline scheduled for May 30th .
