Shockwaves have on Monday morning struck through Nkondo Village in Matale Sub County, Kibaale District after a Primary Six Pupil aborted a suspected six months pregnancy and dumped the foetus in a neighbor’s abandoned pit latrine.
The girl aged 15, whose names are concealed because she is a minor, is a pupil at Kikangahara P/s in Kibaale Town Council, Kibaale District.
The underage girl has been living with her grandmother after her father, identified as Leonard Birungi, abandoned the family and went to Mubende.
It is alleged that the pupil was impregnated by a one Jackson Tumusiime, a resident of Kasenyi-Ngangi B Village in Matale Sub County and is currently on run.
Shocked residents led by Robert Kakeeto, the Village Chairperson have condemned the act pinning Nakitende Kyaligonza who is also on the run for aiding the purported abortion.
In a private interview with our reporter, the underage girl has confessed to the act pinning Jackson Tumusiime, a resident of Nyakasozi-Ngangi B Village in Matale Sub County, of impregnating her and denying responsibility of the pregnancy.
By Press time, Police from Kituuti Police Post led by Afande Baguma the O/C was at the scene recording statements and the fetus believed to be a baby Boy had been retrieved from the pit latrine and decently buried.
Abortion in Uganda is illegal unless performed by a licensed medical doctor in a situation where the woman’s life is deemed to be at risk.
