Kagadi
Muslims in Kagadi district have been urged to shun sectarianism and domestic violence in their communities to foster development.
The call was made on 20th Friday by Sheik Haji.Muhammed Isingoma the Kibaale Muslim district Kadhi during special Eid-al-Fitr prayers at Kagadi town mosque in Kagadi town council,Kagadi district.
He stresses that acts of sectarianism and domestic violence hinder development in society, calling upon believers to shun them.
Sheikh Isingoma emphasised the importance of unity in socio-economic development.
Sheikh Isingoma also asked the Muslims to embrace poverty alleviation government programs such as Parish Development Modal, Emyooga and saccos to improve their homestead incomes.
In her remarks, Justine Aisha Tumwebaze, the Kagadi district senior health educator who also doubles as the Women’s representative for Bunyoro and Tooro region to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council called on families to embrace hard work and education for their children.
She asked youth to maintain high moral standards through abstaining from drug abuse and indecent dressing.

Meanwhile, the Kagadi district Lc5 chairperson elect Ellygard Tumusiime says Muslims have been marginalised in leadership positions and promises to include them in his administration.
He however warns Muslims against overspending during Eid-al-Fitr celebrations, as there are other awaiting responsibilities such as paying school fees for their children.

Muslims have been urged to maintain the spirit of holiness, discipline, and good deeds cultivated during the holy month of Ramadan, even after its conclusion.
The call was made by Sheik Businge Shafik during the Eid-al-Fitr prayers at Muhorro town mosque in Muhorro town council Kagadi district.
He emphasized the importance of sustaining the values practiced during Ramadan.
Shaik Businge cautioned believers against reverting to negative behaviors, urging them instead to remain committed to acts of kindness, charity, and devotion to Allah.
He also asked Muslims to desist from domestic violence and maintain peace in their families.
Ssemata Swaibu a believer in the Islamic faith says the fasting period has been successful and highlights spiritual benefits.
