Kagadi
Muslims in Kagadi district have been urged to promote unity and peace to foster development as per the Islamic teachings.
The call was made on Sunday by the Kibaale Muslim district Kadhi Sheik Muhammed Isingoma during Eid al-Fitr players held at Kagadi town mosque in Kagadi town council, Kagadi district.
He further warned Muslims to avoid hate speech and refrain from religious and tribal politics ahead of the election period.
Sheik Isingoma implored Muslims to observe peace and conserve the environment to prevent the occurrences of natural disasters.
Sheikh Muhammed Isingoma, also commended Muslims for being devoted to the faith and urges them to uphold the virtues of the Holy Ramadan season even after the fasting period.
He further urged the youth to protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) such as HIV/AIDS emphasizing abstinence, condom use and faithfulness amongst married couples.

At the ceremony, the Buyaga East MP Eric Musana urged Muslims to engage in commercial agriculture to combat poverty and increase food production.
He emphasized the importance of investing in farming and related activities to achieve sustainable economic growth.
Musana donated over Five hundred thousand shillings (Ugx 500,000) to support mosque projects.
Meanwhile, at Kyakabadiima mosque, Imam Asuman Bitasiima urged Muslims to promote unity and observe peace to foster development.
In Kibaale, the Acting Supreme Kadhi Bunyoro under the Uganda Supreme Mufti, Girani Irumba implored Muslims to support the education of their children and work hard for their well-being.
Girani who is also the Imam Karuguuza town Mosque in Kibaale Town council made remarks while preaching to Muslims during Eid al-fitr prayers at the mosque premises.
Girani appealed to Muslim faithful who turned up for Eid prayers to avoid engaging in bad habits like drinking alcohol, fornication even after the Ramadan fasting season.
Isah Banyine the Imam Kisengwe Mosque from Kakumiro district warned Muslims against engaging in alcoholism.
At Kibaale town mosque, Muslims were asked to observe and respect the five pillars of the Islamic faith.
The message was delivered by the Mosque Imam, Farouk Sembatya during Eid El-Fitr prayers.
Unlike in 2024, this year Muslims have fasted for only 29 days after sighting the crescent moon on Saturday evening.Believers can fast 29 days or 30 days as per the Islamic teachings.
