Hoima
Dr. Sam Mayanja, the State Minister for Lands, is visiting Hoima District today for the second time in just a period of one month.
This visit follows his previous directive to the Hoima District Security team to enforce the return of the people of Rwobunyonyi in Buraru Sub-County to their land, from which they were illegally evicted by Mugamba Fred.
The eviction spanned over 800 acres of land.
The Hoima District Security team, led by RDC Mbabazi Rogers and Bunyoro Region Dean of RDC’s Amlan Tumusiime, successfully returned the people of Rwobunyonyi to their land last week.
However, they faced resistance from Hoima District Police, led by DPC John Rutagira, who refused to provide security to enforce the minister’s directive.
According to Mbabazi Rogers, the Hoima District RDC, Dr. Mayanja’s visit aims to confirm whether his directive has been implemented.
After Rwobunyonyi, the minister will head to Bombo Sub-County to resolve the land dispute between Beatrice Byenkya and Abdumaliki.
