The Kagadi town council clerk John Isingoma has urged the public to remain patient over the delay of the commissioning and operationalisation of Mambugu weekly market.
Kagadi town council authorities had earlier this year promised the public that Mambugu market would be commissioned for use in April but to date it remains a dream.
Members of the public had also bought stalls and lock ups in Mambugu market at a fee of Ugx 200,000 each ready to sell their merchandise and transform their lives but their hopes have been turned down by the delay of commissioning the market.
But in an interview with Paradigm FM at the town council offices on Wednesday,Clerk John Isingoma said that the delay of opening Mambugu market has been caused by lack of funds to complete the construction of the toilets.
He said that the contractor that was hired to construct the toilets abandoned work because of the town council authority’s failure to fund the project.
Isingoma rallies the public to remain patient as the town council authorities waits to receive funds from the central government for construction of the toilets.
He assured the public that the market will be operational soon and urges residents that bought lock ups to start constructing them as they wait for the market to open for use.
