Katikengeye Archdeaconry has awarded prizes to Christians and well-wishers who have significantly supported church projects via an electronic merchant code system.
The awarded Christians had contributed tithe ranging from small amounts to over 3.5M shillings over the past six months and received gifts such as TV sets, radios, goats, bed sheets, pangas, hoes, piglets, and other household items.
The top merchant code funder was Andrew Ntegeka who deposited 3.5M, followed by Carolyn Oyem Paponk and Namara Christine in third position, among others.
Ven.Rev. Capt. Wilson Atuhiire, the archdeacon of Katikengeye archdeaconry said they have achieved notable successes with the financial support received via the merchant code system, and appealed for more support to fund more development projects.
For one to send the financial support via the MTN Marchant code system presses *165*3# and enters 577660, and the fund is directly deposited to the archdeaconry’s account.
The collections are invested in various projects at the archdeaconry such as developing the school and church infrastructure, supporting the vulnerable communities including school children from poor families, the sick, among others.
