Residents of Kagadi town council Kagadi district have raised serious concerns over the faulty street lights in the area, describing it as a major threat to public safety.
Many parts of the town remain in complete darkness after sunset, heightening fears of crime and making it difficult for businesses to operate during night time.
Community members including boda boda operators say the situation has emboldened criminals and forced traders and pedestrians to limit their activities during late evening hours.
They have also appealed to authorities to prioritize the situation before it worsens thus called on the town council to swiftly repair and extend the street lighting system across the town to ensure public safety and restore confidence in nighttime traders.

Meanwhile, John Isingoma the town clerk Kagadi town council said that during the construction of Kigumba-Kagadi -Kenjonjo road project,they received over 100 Street lights and currently over 20 security lights are no longer functioning.
Meanwhile assures that the town council is working hard to fix the problem.
