Kagadi Police have joined community members in the Greening Kagadi Campaign ahead of the Seyeya Marathon scheduled for October 3rd, 2026.
The tree-planting exercise was led by Kagadi District Police Commander SP Ameru Philemon, together with security personnel and Kagadi Town Council Principal Town Clerk John Isingoma.
Speaking during the exercise at Gapiko Petrol Station along Kagadi-Kibaale Road, SP Ameru said police participation is aimed at encouraging residents to protect the environment and make Kagadi town greener and more attractive.
Principal Town Clerk of Kagadi Town Council,John Isingoma commended the police for supporting the initiative, saying trees planted during the exercise were named after participants to promote ownership and responsibility.
He has warned the public against destroying the trees and cautioned drivers against careless parking, saying motorists who damage trees will be required to buy 100 replacement trees.
Meanwhile, Pastor F. Ibrahim Magezi of Kagadi Revival Cathedral described the campaign as a positive development that will improve the appearance of Kagadi town.
He has called on religious leaders and residents to support tree planting and environmental conservation efforts.
