Kagadi
The Kagadi District Local Government has launched the construction of the Kaitemba-Kavule-Mpamba road.

The 16-kilometer stretch, which will cost 80 million Ugandan shillings, is set to improve connectivity between Mabaale, Kyakabadiima, Kyenzige, and Kanyabebe sub-counties.

Speaking at the launch at Kaitemba trading center in Mabale Sub-County on Thursday, the Kagadi Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Lillian Ruteraho warned the contractors and site engineers against sexual harassment and exploitation of women in the communities during the construction works.

She emphasized quality work and called for community support to ensure the progress of the project.

Byaruhanga Charles the Kagadi district inspector of roads asked the community to support the project with murrum for quality work. He said only 6Kms of the road will be filled with murrum, asserting that this can only be effective with local engagement and support.

At the same ceremony, the Kagadidistrict LC5 Chairperson Ndibwami B. Yosia emphasized that the road construction aims to ease the movement of goods and people, boosting economic activities in the district.

Local leaders welcomed the project, expressing gratitude to the NRM government for improving the road network.

Residents and traders in the area anticipate that the improved road will enhance trade, agriculture, and service delivery in Kagadi District.
