Kagadi

The Kagadi district deputy RDC Benjamin Tumusiime has reechoed the president’s call warning government schools against charging fees, saying the illegal practice has increased cases of teenage pregnancies and high school dropout rates in communities.

He made the call on Thursday during a radio talk show on the mighty Paradigm FM.

Tumusiime asserts that many children are dropping out of school before completing primary seven, others marrying off at tender age, carrying the blame to school administrators charging fees in government schools directing them to stop the habit with immediate effect.

Tumusiime said the government policy of free education through UPE and USE programs were initiated to allow inclusivity and provide equal education opportunities to all children regardless of their family back grounds.

He warned rich parents against collaborating with headteachers to impose fees in government schools, advising them to take their children to private schools and leave government schools to accommodate children from poor families.

Tumusiime however asked parents not to leave the whole burden of education to government but also support their children with lunch and scholastic materials to improve performance.

Meanwhile, the Kagadi Assistant RDC Francis Behangana issued a stern warning to parish chiefs, Community Development Officers (CDOs) and Parish Development Modal (PDM) chairpersons against extorting money from the beneficiaries.

He says his office has received multiple reports of SACCO leaders extorting money from the beneficiaries under the disguise of covering stationery, entering their names into the computers and other SACCO related expenses.

Behangana emphasized that these expenses are already being catered for by the government, and any form of extortion hinders the successful rollout of the PDM project.

J, do appreciate Deputy RDC kagadi district for the main issue talked about j, have an issue here which is not good in primary schools, UNEB exams 2024 many people are saying have been fairly good but unfortunately most of UPE schools have failed to perform better grades why? If teachers in UPE schools have been careless on work, playing cards, riding motorcycles as business showing Laziness and willing to continue their habbit because money is not paid by parents what is the best solution for government schools in kagadi district to begin performing better grades other teachers we find them full drunken excessively if you go shema, Bushenyi, kanuungu county wide all primary schools perform very well in first grade for us kagadi primary schools do not fight for grades because there is no follow-up or inspection j, am from Rwabaranga primary school
