Hundreds of Christians have on Thursday 16th Jan 2025 thronged St.Mary’s Catholic Church in Kagadi district for the requiem mass of late Ignatius Besisira, the former Buyaga County Member of parliament ahead of his sendoff slated for 17th January,2025.
The mass was led by the Episcopal vicar Kagadi vicariate Msgr. Peter Kabelenge who commended Besisira’s legacy and great contribution to the catholic church, further asking Christians to emulate his example.

The Kibaale district RDC Steven Byaruhanga Mfashingabo eulogized late Steven Besisira as trustworthy, peace maker and a good leader whose legacy will be remembered at all times.
He thanked President Yoweri Museven for offering state funeral to Late Ignatius Besisira a staunch supporter of the NRM party.

At the same ceremony, the chairperson Bunyoro Kitara kingdom royal commission Yoramu Nsamba appreciated late Besisira for his dedication and self-less service to the kingdom and for raising his children loving the kingdom culture and affairs.
He challenges the children to emulate their father’s legacy.

Meanwhile, the bereaved family led by Gerald Businge lauded their late father for being a good and caring parent who educated and nurtured them into important persons.
He says their father succumbed to high blood pressure at 68 years.

Ignatius Besisira was born in 1956 in igaayaza Pacwa, then part of Hoima District (now Kagadi District), to the late John Rurekere and Nyensi Agnes Kabacunda.
Besisira, a former teacher, Kibaale District Councilor, District Speaker, and Member of Parliament, was serving as a commissioner on the Local Government Finance Commission at the time of his death.
