The Bishop of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese, Rt Rev Jacob Ateirweho, has urged churches in the diocese to open bank accounts for proper accountability.
Bishop Ateirweho made this call during the ordination ceremony of 14 Reverend Deacons and 13 priests held at St Peter’s Cathedral Duhaga in Hoima City today.
He explained that during his supervision, it was discovered that some churches have bank accounts that are not being utilized, with church funds being kept at the treasurer’s homes which he condemns.
