Professional and traditional practitioners have honoured the leader of the Faith of Unity, Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka, in recognition of his contribution to spiritual leadership, peace, unity and community development.
The award was presented recently at the Faith of Unity headquarters in Kapyemi Healing City, Muhorro Town Council, Kagadi District.
The delegation comprised representatives of the National Council of Traditional Healers and Herbalists Associations of Uganda (NACOTHA), and researchers from the East African Polyphonic College of Kyambogo (EAPCK).
The team commended Owobusobozi Bisaka for promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and positive traditional values.
Yusufu Mubiru Kisekwa, a research fellow at EAPCK, said the recognition acknowledges the
contribution of the Faith of Unity and its leader to promoting the philosophy of oneness, community development and natural living.

Mubiru said the recognition is also linked to Owobusobozi Bisaka’s nomination for an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree, which is expected to be awarded during the institution’s 16th graduation ceremony.
He said the nomination followed the submission of several letters by researchers to the principal of EAPCK, who tasked NACOTHA and the college with assessing Owobusobozi Bisaka’s contribution to peace and unity.
The assessment considered teachings contained in the book The Faith of Unity, alongside other teachings promoting peace, unity and service to humanity.
Mubiru also said an academic conference will be held on the day of the planned honour to discuss a paper on the philosophy of oneness, authored and to be presented by Owobusobozi Bisaka.
The conference is expected to bring together scholars from universities across the world.

In his response, Owobusobozi Bisaka welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the recognition and his nomination for the honorary degree.
He said the Faith of Unity was established to teach people the true meaning of God while promoting unity, peace and development.

Owobusobozi Bisaka further highlighted the contribution of the faith to community transformation through free healing services, the promotion of hard work, and teachings that encourage people to live and work together.
He noted that the faith continues to promote unity and peaceful coexistence through its teachings and community activities.
