Residents of Nyamukara in Mpeefu Town Council, Kagadi District, have received a boost in agricultural development after Redemption Mission and Charity Group distributed coffee seedlings to its members.
During the distribution held on Saturday in Nyamukara, Saturday Enoth the group’s Executive officer, revealed that over 2,400 coffee seedlings were supplied, with each member receiving 120 seedlings for planting.
Enoth said the initiative is aimed at improving household incomes and enhancing food security among group members. He emphasized that the group’s mission focuses on promoting equal development opportunities for all members.
He added that the project also contributes to environmental protection through tree planting, while the organization continues to support vulnerable children by providing scholastic materials and assistance.
Enoth encouraged the community to embrace agriculture, particularly the growing of crops such as coffee and cocoa, and urged parents to prioritize education for their children as a pathway to socio-economic transformation.
The LC3 Chairperson of Mpeefu Town Council, Nkwasibwe Robert Birahuri, commended the group’s leadership for promoting socio-economic development and improving livelihoods. He praised their commitment and hard work in transforming lives within the community.
Birahuri called upon well-wishers and partners to support the group’s initiatives, noting their dedication to helping vulnerable children despite limited resources.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries including Byarugaba Jackson and Allen Mbabazi from Rukoora expressed gratitude to the group for the support, saying the seedlings will help improve their household incomes.
They pledged to properly care for the coffee plants until maturity, noting that the initiative offers a sustainable pathway out of poverty. They also encouraged other community members to join similar programs.
