Journalists have been urged to embrace digital skills and integrity to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
The call was made on Monday by Patrick Kyomuhendo a veteran journalist and executive director Rwenzori integrated development Uganda (RIDI UG) while adressing Paradigm FM staff at the station premises in Kagadi town.
Kyomuhendo says technology has now significantly transformed journalism, making the process of gathering, producing, and disseminating news faster and more efficient unlike the past where journalists struggled to gather news stories using rudimentary gadgets.
He says journalism is facing growing threats from untrained persons who are practicing the profession with unethical behaviour.
Kyomuhendo cautions journalists to uphold ethics and integrity remaining committed to core values of the profession.
Kyomuhendo further asked journalists to embrace team spirit, perform their duties diligently and report accurate and balanced stories.
