A-34-Year-Old man in Mpeefu Sub-County, Kagadi district has lost his life in a bar brawl over a woman.
The deceased is Amon Ainebyoona,a resident of Siyoni Lc1 in Mpeefu Sub-County,Kagadi district.
Ainebyoona was stubbed to death at around mid-night on Monday following a disagreement over a woman in a bar that resulted into a violent altercation.
The LC1 Chairman for Twesimire Cell, Muramuzi Jackson, alongside Tugumisiriza Jastius, the Vice Chairperson of Sion LC1, said the conflict reportedly involved several individuals fighting over a bar maid identified as Unisi, also a resident of the same area.
Jackson explained that the disagreement escalated, prompting the deceased to leave the bar and return with a panga. However, upon his return, he was overpowered by the suspects, who allegedly turned the same weapon against him, leading to his death.
The suspects have been identified as Kwikiriza Wilson, Wilbrod Tumwebaze, and another individual only known as Kamukama.
In the aftermath of the killing, angry residents reportedly attacked the home of Kwikiriza Wilson’s aunt identified as Teopista of Twesimire Cell, set her house and property ablaze in an act of revenge.
Muramuzi Jackson,the area LC1 chairperson condemned the mob action and urged residents to refrain from taking the laws into their own hands. He also raised concern over increasing drug abuse in the area, which he said contributes to violent behavior.

The deceased’s mother, Kihembo Mary, described her son as a peaceful person with no known history of conflict. She appealed to the government for support, noting that the deceased has left behind two children with no mother and that the family is struggling to provide for them.
One suspect, only identified as Kamukama, has been arrested to assist with investigations, while efforts to apprehend the other suspects are ongoing.
Attempts to obtain a comment from the Albertine Regional Police spokesperson were unsuccessful by the time of filing this report.
