Kagadi
Mobilizers and supporters of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) in Kagadi District have launched an endorsement drive in support of General Muhoozi Kainerugaba for the 2031 presidential election.
The exercise was launched on Thursday at Kagadi Freedom Tree in Kagadi Town Council, Kagadi district.
Speaking during the launch, PLU Coordinator for Kagadi district,James Byarugaba urged residents to participate in the registration and endorsement exercise.
Byarugaba has described Kainerugaba as a possible successor to President Yoweri Museveni and said his support would help protect the achievements of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government.
He also cited corruption as one of Uganda’s major challenges and said Kainerugaba has been vocal about the issue.
The NRM chairperson for Kagadi District Karungi Erukana Mpoza has rallied local NRM leaders to support Kainerugaba as a possible successor to President Museveni.
Mpoza has called on NRM supporters to sign and endorse Kainerugaba for the 2031 presidential election.
Meanwhile, Jocious Tumukwasiibwe, the chief mobilizer of PLU in Kagadi District, has commended residents for attending the launch and appreciated their support for the group.
He said Kagadi has received four official PLU endorsement books, which will be distributed to the sub-counties within one week to allow residents to endorse Gen.Muhoozi for president in 2031.
The launch was also attended by the chairperson of the Ensonga Team Eric Musana,Dennis Namara, MP for Buyaga West, Naziiwa Margret, Woman MP for Kagadi District; members of the security team and other invited guests.
