Kagadi

Parents have been urged to be vigilant and protect their children during the long holiday season.

The call was made on Thursday 06th NOV 2025 by the Kagadi district probation officer Banakora Steven Kiyaga during an interview with Paradigm FM at his office in Kagadi town council,Kagadi district.

He notes that children often get spoiled and join bad peer groups during these breaks, which can affect their education career.

Banakora emphasized the need for parents to tighten security and supervision, given that the December holidays are one of the longest academic breaks.

Additionally,Banakora advised children to maintain discipline and assist their parents with domestic work during the holidays and avoid unnecessary travels to visit relatives that may result to early pregnancies and school dropouts.

He further advised parents to start up income generating projects such as piggery, cattle rearing and poultry  and allow their children to manage them as this will generate more income for school fees.

Similarly, the Episcopal vicar Kagadi vicariate Msgr.Peter Kabelenge also urges parents and guardians to take serious measures in protecting their children from rising dangers during the break.

He asked candidates that have just concluded their national exams to maintain discipline and pursue further education to have a better future.
