The Patriotic League of Uganda mobiliser for Kibaale District, Kyalikunda Junior Ebenezer, has urged parents and guardians to ensure the safety and well being of their children during the holiday.
Kyalikunda made the on thursday during an interview with Paradigm FM at his office in Kibaale Town Council.
He urged parents to closely monitor their children, saying they face various risks when they are away from school.
Kyalikunda also encouraged parents to provide a safe and supportive home environment and guide their children on how to spend the holiday responsibly.
Kyalikunda also urged children to take responsibility for their safety and avoid activities that could put them in danger.
He says protecting children during the holiday is a shared responsibility between parents, guardians, communities and the children themselves.
