The Buyaga East Member of Parliament Eric Musana says will challenge Steven Twesige Rurekere’s win in court, citing massive irregularities and violence that marred the 15th January,2026 election.
Steven Twesige Rurekere-the NRM Candidate secured win with 34,637votes against incumbent Eric Musana who gathered 25,310 votes.
Addressing his coordinators and agents at Paradigm FM premises on 7th February, 2026 Musana expressed dissatisfaction with the results, citing electoral irregularities and a lack of transparency by some EC officials.
He also rejected the outcome, alleging that the election was marred with ballot staffing, voter bribery, multiple voting, participation of non-registered voters in the exercise, altering of declaration forms, gross threats of agents among other malpractices.
Musana accuses his opponent Twesige Steven Rurekere for orchestrating violence and vote rigging to secure the election victory.
He says will file his election petition in court to seek for justice. Musana however thanked his supporters for voting him massively and rallies them to maintain peace and stick to Ensonga.

The Local council three chairpersons who graced the function include Augustine Kacimbiri for Kabamba Sub-County,Khalid Baluku Yusufu for Nyabutanzi,Mugisa Yuda Tadeo-Kyanaisoke,George Asiga for Paacwa Sub-County and Vincent Aligonza Wenka Kamihanda councillor for disabilities.
These also condemned the violence that marred the election and rallied supporters of MP Musana to remain calm and united.
Meanwhile the victims Tibyata Muhumuza and Vincent Tumuramye aka Dosantos staff Paradigm FM gave testimonies, narrating the violent attacks by the supporters of Steven Twesige who left them with severe harm. They said they reported the cases to court and hope to get justice.
