The state minister for works and transport Fred Byamukama has assured government commitment to resolving Bunyoro’s long-standing land ownership challenges.
Byamukama on Thursday speaking as the chief mourner at the send-off of Mugisa Samuel aka Cuba landlord in Kyakabugahya B cell Kagadi town council kagadi district.
Late Mugisa Cuba succumbed to diabetes he had battled for a long time.
By the time of his death Mugisa has been the chairman Kagadi district Land board.
Minister Byamukama also delivered 10 million shillings condolence from the president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and another 10 million shillings own contribution.
Byamukama noted that besides road infrastructure developments and renovations of health facilities including Kagadi general hospital in the Bunyoro Sub-region, the government is also committed to ensuring compensation of all absentee land lords so that all the people leaving in Bunyoro get their land tittles.
Byamukama was responding to the public concern at the same function raised by the Buyaga East MP Eric Musana remanding the president to resolve land ownership challenges in the Bunyoro sub-region.
Mp Musana also eulogized late Mugisa and commended his good working relationship with people, business partnerships especially on land tittles transactions and the good parenting spirit.
Meanwhile Mugisa’s siblings led by their elder sister Nakyanzi Jahile eulogized their father as a committed man towards education, having a giving, loving and caring heart.
The fallen Mugisa Samuel aka Cuba landlord is survived by two wives and 11 children.
