Media practitioners in Western Uganda have been implored to advocate for culture and Chimpanzee conservation in order to protect important resources.
The call has been sounded today by Barbra Babwetera the Executive Director Cross-Cultural Foundation of Uganda (CCFU) in her closing remarks of the 2- day workshop held at Hill View Hotel in Kagadi Town.
She also called upon both cultural and religious leaders to help educate the public about the importance of Chimpanzee conservation.
Swaleh Kuteesa Kadoma the founder of the Friends of Chimpanzee attributed the continued attacks of Chimpanzee on the Community to the harassment and destruction of its habitat area.
He appealed the Government and the general Public to carry out re-afforestation with indigenous trees which provides Chimpanzee a place to sleep, feed and good weather.
Meanwhile the participants are optimistic that the knowledge attained will enable them report stories that enforce co-existence of Chimpanzee and Human beings.
