Katikengeye COU parish, under Katikengeye archdeaconry on Sunday held a fund raising drive to solicit funds for clearing the pending balance of the archdeaconry vehicle that was acquired on hire purchase.

The colourful event was held at St.Andrew’s Katikengeye COU parish, the headquarters of Katikengeye archdeaconry in Nyakarongo Sub-County Kagadi district.

The ceremony aimed to fetch 12M for settling the pending debit on the archdeaconry vehicle but only Ugx 5m was raised remaining with a deficit of 7M.

Officiating at the ceremony, Desteo Ntegeka the principal accounting secretary ministry of lands who was represented by his wife Jenepher Atugonza lauded Ven.Rev.Capt.Wilson Atuhaire the archdeacon of Katikengeye archdeaconry for his diligent evangelistic efforts that have transformed Christian lives.

He also lauded Christians for their unwavering support toward the church activities.

Politically, Ntegeka urged residents to maintain peace ahead of 2026 elections. He supported the function with Five hundred thousand shillings (Ugx500,000).

The Kagadi district Lc5 chairperson Yosia Ndibwami also praised developments at Katikengeye archdeaconry and promised to support Katikengeye COU SS be taken up by government.

He pledged to support development programs at the church after elections now that nominated candidates are barred by electoral laws from participating in any fundraising activity.

In his remarks,Capt.Wilson Atuhaire says had organized a fundraising function praising God for the gift of life and good working relationship with the Christians.

He made appeals to the faithful to always prioritize God in their daily life and offer thanksgiving to attract rewards of blessings.
