The archdeacon of Katikengeye archdeaconry Ven.Rev.Capt.Wilosn Atuhiire Atwooki has warned parents to put an end to teenage pregnancies and child marriages, saying the vice is encouraged by the unfortunate practice of viewing girls as a commodity.
He made the call on Tuesday during an exclusive interview with Paradigm FM at Katikengeye archdeaconry headquarters in Nyakarongo Sub-County,Kagadi district.
Rev.Atuhiire said early marriages have increased school dropout rates and this ruins the future of the young girls lured into marriages at tender age.
He urges parents and other stakeholders to step up and fight practices of child marriages in communities.
Rev.Atuhiire has also rallied parents to fulfill their responsibilities of looking after their children and not give up on the victims but still extend to them an opportunity to go back to school.

Additionally, Ven.Rev.Capt. Atuhiire has also asked local leaders to ensure that no child remains at home this term, asserting that low education levels retards development in society.
He believes education is key to unlocking development opportunities in homes, adding that parents should educate their children if they are to get their children’s love and support during their old age.
