The District Returning Officer for Kagadi, Marcy Ataho, has urged community Members to participate in the upcoming National Voter’s Register update exercise to avoid future election inconveniences.
Speaking to Paradigm FM, Ataho announced that the update will begin tomorrow Monday, January 20th, and continue until February 10th.
The process will take place at the sub-county and parish levels.
Ataho explained that this exercise is a critical step in preparing for the 2026 general elections, organized by the Independent Electoral Commission of Uganda.
She also highlighted that the demarcation of electoral areas and the reorganization of polling stations have already been completed, and the updated voter register will be publicly displayed in April, following the completion of the update process.

The update will also accommodate individuals transferring to new polling stations.
Additionally, she noted that community sensitization and training for the registrars handling the exercise have already been carried out.
She appealed to the public for cooperation to ensure the smooth running of the registration process.
