Kagadi

The incoming Kagadi district political leadership has pinched halls in the outgoing administration.

Led by the Chairman elect Ellegard Tumusiime, the incoming council members have cited several gaps in service delivery and other anomalies.

Some councillors made their submissions and political analysis in an interview with Paradigm FM after attending the council session for Kagadi District Local Government on 6th May, at JW Kate Hotel in Kagadi town council.

Ellygard Tumusiime, who represented Nyakarongo Sub County in the outgoing leadership, highlights some of the needs for change in the incoming leadership.

He notes respect for council members without segregation, fighting corruption, and prioritising community needs.

Speaking to some of the incoming district councillors, they highlighted issues of personal identity in council by the speaker and only pushing the interest of the chairman.

The other team of councillors have assured that they will not allow repetition of mistakes and other anomalies that almost defined the 11th house.

The Outgoing district chairpersons and mayors are directed to hand over offices and government assets by May 12, 2026.

The incoming leadership will be sworn in starting with president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on the 12th of May 2026 followed by the local government’s program from 20th on-wards.
