The archdeacon of Katikengeye COU archdeaconry Ven.Rev.Capt.Wilson Atuhiire in collaboration with partners has handed over reusable sanitary pads to the students of Katikengeye COU SS to encourage them remain in school.
The donation of 90 reusable sanitary pads was purchased with support from one of the partners Caroline Abwooli and these were delivered to the students at the school premises on Wedneday.
Atuhaire says the pads are set to last for over a year, providing a long-term solution for the girl child who struggle with access to hygienic menstrual products.
He says that the pads will help to improve school attendance and academic performance of girls at the school.
Capt.Atuhaire expressed his appreciation to Ms.Caroline Abwooli for the timely response, revealing that currently, the district is overwhelmed by number of girls dropping out of schools due to pads related challenges and encouraged the beneficiaries to ensure proper utilization of the pads.
