The Kagadi grade one magistrate’s court presided over by His worship Edward Kayuki has remanded five people to Mambugu prisons on charges of theft.

The accused have been identified as Sarah Akugizibwe aged 26,Emmanuel Nsengiyunva-30 years,Godfrey Musinguzi-30 years, two others identified as only Gatabazi-32 and Petero 30 years,all residents of Kyomukama Lc1,Kagadi town council in Kagadi district.

Prosecution told court that the accused allegedly stole 50 Kgs of beans and a bag of groundnuts worth 740,000 shillings property of their employer Asiimwe also a resident of Kyomukama cell.

The incident happened on 04th April, 2025.

While in the dock, all the suspects denied the charges and were remanded to Mambugu prison till 21st Oct,2025,when they will reappear in court for further mention of their case.

Meanwhile,the same court also remanded a-25 year old man identified as Joseph Isingoma to Mambugu prison for allegedly stealing a pig worth Ugx160,000.

Court heard that the accused on 04th April,2025, while in his home area of  Kisaara Lc1 Kenga parish,Kagadi Sub-County  in Kagadi district stole a pig of Atugonza Asiimwe of the same area.

Appearing before court, the accused denied the theft charges and was remanded till 21st Oct,2025,when he will return to court for further hearing of the case.
