The Ministry of water and environment together with Kagadi district local government has launched the construction of Buharura Solar piped water system in Kiryanga Sub-County.
The project set to cost over 700 million shillings was contracted to NEXUS green company Ltd and will last for three months.The water project will serve the villages of Kikonda, Kisegu and Buharura in Kiryanga Sub-County.
Speaking at the launching exercise in Buharura trading center last evening the 11th Feb 2025, the Kagadi deputy RDC Benjamin Tumusiime, asked the contractor to complete the project within the stipulated period.
He also asked the contractor to pay workers very well to ensure quality work, further warning against vandalism of construction materials and sexual harassment against women in the areas hosting the project.

In his remarks, the Buyaga East MP Eric Musana says Buharura Solar piped water system is one of the government interventions to increase access to clean water in Kiryanga Sub-County and neighboring areas.
He urged residents to ignore some critics downplaying developments in the constituency, highlighting on other water projects in Kagadi town ,Kicucura, Kyanaisoke,Paacwa,Kabamba ,Bugwara and Kenga,which have improved livelihoods.

At the ceremony,the Kagadi district woman MP Janepher Kyomuhendo Mbabazi asked locals to maintain all incumbent leaders in the next elections in appreciation of their service based leadership and other notable achievements this political term.
