Kagadi
Two people have died and four others have been injured in a road accident along the Kagadi–Hoima Road.
The accident occurred on Friday in the morning at around 8 a.m. near Seyaya Courts Hotel in Kitooro Cell, Kagadi Town Council, Kagadi District.
The accident involved a Toyota Corolla, registration number UAL 627F, which was carrying six people from Ibanda Municipality to Hoima.
One of the deceased has been identified as Geoffrey Kategaya, while the identity of the driver was not known by press time.
According to one of the survivors, Danison Twinamasiko, the driver lost control of the car while trying to overtake another vehicle, causing it to veer off the road.
Twinamashiko said all the occupants are residents of Kafunjo Cell, Bufundi Division, in Ibanda Municipality.
He said there were six people on board, including Kiiza Lauben, Olivia Nanteeza, Twinamashiko Danison, Komukama David and Geoffrey Kategaya, all from Kafunjo Cell in Ibanda District.
In an interview, with Principal Nursing Officer St Ambrose charity hospital Sister Kyomugisa Bonny, said the health facility received four casualties.
Two of them are responding well to medication, while the other two victims are under close medical supervision.
By press time, efforts to get a comment from the police on the accident had been unsuccessful.
