Kagadi
Kagadi General Hospital is facing a shortage of medical workers, a situation that is affecting service delivery.
The Health Service Commission Chairperson, Dr Henry Mwebesa, revealed this after inspecting the hospital on Wednesday.
He said the facility receives a high number of patients every day but has only five doctors, yet it needs at least ten to meet the demand.
Dr Mwebesa also raised concern over the poor condition of some hospital buildings.
He says the Ministry of Health plans to renovate and improve the facilities to provide better healthcare services.
Dr.Mwebesa praised the hospital’s doctors and nurses for their commitment to serving patients despite the staffing challenges.
He added that efforts are underway to strengthen the hospital workforce with the recent recruitment of a surgeon and a gynaecologist.
