As the world marks Father’s Day today 21st June, Pan-Africanist and leader of the Ensonga Team Hon. Eric Musana has called on parents to give equal attention to the boy child, just as they do to girls.
While featuring in “My Point” program hosted on Paradigm FM Musana emphasized the need to invest more effort in raising and nurturing boys so that they grow into responsible fathers and leaders of the next generation.
He noted that the boy child has largely been neglected in society, yet boys play a vital role in building strong and stable families. According to Musana failure to educate and properly guide boys can result in negative consequences to the society.
He urged parents and guardians to allocate resources equally to boys, stressing that every child deserves equal opportunities for education and development.
Musana also expressed concern over the increasing number of single mothers in society adding that, the trend is partly as a result of raising boys without adequately preparing them for their future responsibilities as fathers and family leaders.
He said there is an urgent need to equip the boy child with values, discipline, and a sense of responsibility to ensure the country produces a generation of committed and responsible fathers.
Musana maintained that it is not too late to reverse the trend and called upon parents, community leaders, and policymakers to prioritize the welfare and development of the boy child.
