Believers of the Faith of Unity have contributed approximately Five Billion, Eight Hundred Six Million, Eight Hundred Fifty Thousand Ugandan shillings (UGX 5,806,850,000) to Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka during celebrations marking his 97th birthday in Kagadi District.
The annual celebrations, held at Kyaruboija Playground in Muhorro Town Council on June 11, attracted politicians, government officials, cultural leaders, and believers from 35 Bukwenda across Uganda and abroad.
According to organizers, over 5.806 billion shillings was collected and presented to Omukama Ruhanga Owobusobozi Bisaka as a token of appreciation for his leadership and guidance.
Kapyemi Bukwenda made the highest contribution of 635 million shillings, followed closely by Kakabara Bukwenda with 634 million. Kampala contributed 406 million shillings, Mugarama 336 million, Ruhoko 300 million, Mubende 276 million, Kyenzige 222 million, and Hoima 212 million shillings, among others.
Speaking during the celebrations, Owobusobozi Bisaka said believers had prayed for President Yoweri Museveni’s victory in the recent elections and that their prayers were answered.
He urged followers to remain steadfast in their faith, work hard, and embrace government programmes aimed at fighting poverty and improving household incomes.
Bisaka also expressed confidence that the country would overcome the Ebola outbreak through God’s grace.
The celebrations were conducted under health guidelines, with all attendees required to wash their hands, sanitize, and undergo temperature screening before accessing the venue.
