Residents of Kikuube District have been praised for maintaining peace during the recently concluded NRM LC5 by-election.
Speaking after the exercise, RDC Angalia Kasigwa Godwin described the vote as peaceful, credible, and democratic, despite a few isolated security incidents now under investigation.
Kasigwa commended voters, candidates, supporters, and joint security teams for ensuring calm throughout the process.
He also congratulated Hon. Philip Mbabazi Burnet and the Koona team upon winning the NRM LC5 primaries, urging them to serve with humility and unity.

Mbabazi, son of Uganda’s ambassador to Burundi, Brigadier General Matayo Kyaligonza, was declared winner shortly after midnight on Friday at the Sir Tito Winyi Primary School tally centre.
He secured 23,279 votes, beating his closest rival Paddy Kisembo, who polled 16,459 votes. Dickson Tushabe and Valentino Rubasharaza came third and fourth respectively.
The LC5 seat fell vacant following the death of former district chairperson Peter Banura Araali in a road accident on April 4th , this year.
The Electoral Commission is expected to nominate candidates on May 25th and 26th ahead of the June 18th district chairperson by-election.
