An-18-year-old man has been committed to Hoima high court for trial on charges of sodomising three minors in Kagadi district.
The accused is Micheal Twerire a resident of Kasoga Lc1 Kyakabanda parish in Paacwa sub county Kagadi district.
The Kagadi grade one magistrates court presided over by His worship Edward Kayukyi had that between the date of 01st to 16th June,2025,the suspect sodomised three minors aged 11 years, 12 ,and 13 years respectively of the same area.
While in the dock, His Worship Kayukyi said the suspect Michael Twerire upon arrest and cross examination, he accepted the charges.
He says the medical examination reports revealed Michael Tweriire is of sound mind prompting court to commit him to Hoima High Court for trial and sentencing.
Homosexual acts are illegal in Uganda and anyone convicted faces life imprisonment.
Meanwhile, the same Court also committed a-62-year-old man to Hoima High Court for trial on three counts of incest, aggravated defilement and torture of her biological daughter.
Prosecution told court that the accused Paul Nkunda a resident of Kamusegu C LC1 ,Bwikara Sub-County, between 2017 and 2026 had been defiling and mistreating his 15-year-old daughter.
Court committed the suspect to Hoima high court for trial.
Under the Penal Code Act of Uganda, aggravated defilement can be punishable by life imprisonment or, at maximum, death.
